A Voice For The Wild Cats of the World
Get to the Nocturnal House Early!

One challenge of taking pictures of cats at zoos is they are often in nocturnal houses, where, by definition, the lighting is less than ideal. There are tweaks to the camera–just do not use the flash. It is anything but nice to the animals.
However, I think I found a hack. As the Cincinnati Zoo opens, the animals are still, for a little while, in “day phase.” There is a brief window when the lights are still on, and pictures can be taken easily.
