Neofelis Nebulosa
Posted by on April 13, 2012

There have been a lot of clouded leopard clubs being born in zoos lately. They grow to be striking cats, with very unique coats.
They also have one of the coolest scientific names: neofelis nebulosa. Neofelis means “new cat.” Nebulosa is Latin for “cloudy,” from its markings. This combination rolls of the tongue almost lyrically. Appropriate for such a regal cat.

Ah so beautiful! I LOVE clouded leopards (well…all leopards but particularly these). Thank you for sharing!
